The business was established in 2004 when an entrepreneurial Shoalhaven mother wanted to create a safe and natural skincare product for her firstborn. Concerned that most products were filled with harmful chemicals, artificial fragrances or synthesized ingredients, she discovered there were very few options for her family. She took it upon herself to develop an Australian-made organic skincare brand – it became known as ‘Cherub Rubs’.
With a new name and an idea of what products the market needed, Cherub Rubs sought the help of Nowchem Pharma & Skincare. They needed support and expertise for access to quality, organic raw materials as well developing the formulation for a pilot test batch.
After the initial success of their new product, Cherub Rubs soon expanded into organic liquid and cream-based products. Nowchem Pharma & Skincare was once again able to support the growing business, providing R&D, analysis and stability testing to establish viable production of organic baby products that are strictly compliant with Australian National Organic Standards.
The Cherub Rubs brand and product range continues to grow today. With the ongoing technical support of Nowchem Pharma & Skincare, Cherub Rubs has experienced significant expansion and now exports into East Asia. It has also achieved numerous certifications including 2012 certified ‘toxic free’ by Safe Cosmetics Australia and 2006 – 2022 Certified Organics Products by Australia Organic Food Chain.
Nowchem Pharma & Skincare and Cherub Rubs continue to work in close partnership to develop new formulations where 95% of ingredients are certified organic. Subsequently, this partnership has developed community relationships with local organisations such as Noahs Inclusion Services and Care South.
