30 years ago, three friends saw an opportunity to create an all-natural, environmentally conscious skincare brand with seaweed as the base ingredient. Combining science, seaweed and a passion for providing people with effective skincare products with visible benefits, Seashanty required the expertise to help develop quality, organic facial and body products.
Seashanty approached Nowchem Pharma & Skincare to provide the expertise and consultation in sourcing of unique raw ingredients and collaboration in formulation of the new core skincare range for their eCommerce business.
Nowchem initially sourced reputable suppliers of quality seaweed in addition to other environmentally conscious raw ingredients. Additionally, Nowchem provided expertise in formulation, testing and production to launch Sea Shanty’s first natural seaweed cream
product with a view to develop further SKUs.
After the initial success with their first cream product, Seashanty and Nowchem developed further products together for face and body – the result of a deep knowledge of consumer insights, natural raw ingredients, product formulation, testing and production. To date, the collaboration has seen the launch of eye creams, facial and body moisturisers, bodywash, oils and balms.
Seashanty continues to use Nowchem’s specialist skincare expertise and manufacturing capability, not only due to the quality of raw ingredients and formulation, but also due to the need for flexible volume requirement based on market demands.
Australian-owned was important to us, as was the fact they are an independent family business. We initially met with John and his team and were very comfortable that they had the credentials and experience to work with us, to develop the technology we wanted using Australian Seaweed as the cornerstone of our brand.
I have to say that the whole process from ideation to production was seamless with John, Savanagh and the team communicating very well throughout and delivering on time at each key stage.
